What goes around . . . | ![]() |
| Speed skating is the hot sport of 2002. Some people do it "inline," some people do it on ice, but nobody does it slowly. If you're a spectator, don't rub your eyes, or you'll miss the next racer coming around the track. Tori Carter is one you don't want to miss. When she's at top speed, she's a national champion inline skater. When she slows down a bit, she's a cross-country runner. When she's standing still, she's a beauty queen. |

| Ms. Carter is what her mother calls "statuesque." Her mother should know what's she talking about, since she's a doctor. But if you want a second opinion, here's ours: Tori is dynamite. |
![]() | Though her pageant career is still in its early stages, she has competed with distinction in the Teen America and Teen USA systems. Now she's Miss Rocky Mountain Teen America, headed for the Miss Teen America Pageant in summer 2002. You might say she's rising rather fast. (Yes, you might say that. And you probably wouldn't give us any credit.) |
![]() | Maybe the thing that fascinates us most about Ms. Carter is that she skates competitively for Wyoming. That's a fair distance from her home, but distance means nothing when you've got speed. Time becomes your servant. Einstein had something to say about time and motion. He said that when you're sitting on a hot stove, time seems to move very slowly. But when you're sitting next to a pretty girl, time seems to speed up. |
| Or as he might say of Tori Carter: "Even when she's a blur, she's beautiful."
