Venus!The Venus Swimwear International Model Search draws some of the world's most beautiful women to Jacksonville, Fla., every September. In 1999, they came again, looking for fame, fortune, fun and a big step up the modeling ladder. Our PNB representative found some familiar faces among the fetching crowd. Several have been featured on our pages in the past year. Ronnie Bueche, a recent PNB cover girl, was chosen Ms. Venus Swimwear 2000 on Sept. 29, 1999, in Jacksonville, Fla. She represented Cotton Eyed Joe in Cookeville, Tenn. |  |
 | The first runner-up was Damaris Pares, representing IB Fashion Productions in San Juan, Puerto Rico. The second runner-up was Katia Corriveau, representing Mickey Finn's Sports Cafe in Oshawa, Ont., and the third runner-up was Lauren Hill, representing Ko-touch Inc. in Charlotte. The fourth runner-up was Jennifer England, representing Michael's Restaurant in Knoxville, Tenn. |
| Heather Tindell, one of the 12 finalists, won seven modeling contracts at the Model Search. Erika Valdez, who was originally called to our attention by her good friend and fellow beauty Tara Cahill, was also among the finalists. |  |
| Venus is a model among model searches, with a professional approach and the ability to deliver on its promises. Thousands of women have benefited from their participation in it. The Venus organization was also one of the first to welcome PNB when our bureau, then tiny and barely organized, went "on the air" in the early days of the World Wide Web. They've got an eye for winners. |
