If you think "party" is a verb, as in "I like to party," you are far too unsophisticated to be reading this story. But we can't stop you. A party is not something you do, it's something you attend. And PNB staffers recently attended a marvelous party. It was exclusive but easygoing, full of beautiful people who had come to enjoy themselves, not to be seen. The occasion was a private screening of a TV program, the 2003 Undiscovered Model Search on the Travel Channel. But the partygoers were not couch potatoes, they were the stars of the show.

In a trendy Buckhead nightclub called Frequency, "Undiscovered" winner Katie Thornton and her former rivals held court, watching themselves compete in the Bahamas through the magic of pre-recording. The party was in Atlanta because Ms. Thornton, of MTV's "Surf Girls." is from Georgia. Everybody was so at ease, few of them even bothered to mention their last names. Just call me . . ." We recognized a former Miss USA delegate talking to a girl who looked to us like a Playboy model. And top executives of EGO Swimwear, which sponsors the Model Search, were on hand to lend some corporate dignity to the occasion.

Some well-known photographers arrived without their cameras, simply wanting to mingle with old friends. PNB lensman Joe Whiteko was one of them. (Just call him "Joe.") We also spotted photographer Rick Hughes. (Just call him "Rick.") Queen Leslie, Miss Pageant.com, was an honored guest, representing PNB with her typical grace. (Just call her "Queen.") Some eyewitnesses even claimed they saw PNB's famously shadowy chairman slipping in for a few minutes, quietly introducing himself to the bewildered beauties and slipping out again. (Just call him . . . no, don't call him. Even we can't find him.) This won't be the last party. The Undiscovered Model Search is looking for its next group of competitors. Check out www.theundiscovered.tv. We're already shining our wingtips.
