"They've got star power"Photos by Mike Fifrick | |
The following memo was recently sent to the head of a major film studio:
| All three of them are stunning. (The guys in the audience will go nuts!) But these beauties are also smart. They're career women. Of course, we need a little drama, a little sadness. How's this? Each one of these girls almost won a major state title, but finished as first runner-up instead. That would make anybody shed a tear. (The ladies in the audience will be positively weeping!) |
| I've got the cast. Three newcomers who are so perfect the parts could have been written for them! You'll want to sign them up right away. But don't fall in love, boss, you're a married man. Ha, ha! For the role of Lydia, the sweet-faced undercover operative, I suggest Mena Royal. She's a fast-rising young business executive and "retired" model. She finished as first runner-up to Miss North Carolina Teen USA two years in a row. People told her she had a look that was too "mature" for a teen queen. Now that she's in her 20s, her look is perfect. |

| For the part of Rikki, the martial artist, I have my eye on Phire Dawson. (The first name rhymes with Myra.) She's a videojournalist with CNN. She comes from a famous pageant family, and she was first runner-up to Miss Georgia USA. She has the body of an athlete, like a female Bruce Lee. But when she's in a swimsuit, she can knock over a grown man without even touching him. |
| And for the role of Cathy, the crusader against crime, I can't think of anybody better than Melanie Sanders. She was featured in a well-known documentary about pageants. She was first runner-up to Miss Mississippi Teen USA, second runner-up to Miss Mississippi (America) and fourth runner-up to Miss Mississippi USA. She's studying to be a lawyer, just like her dad, because she believes in justice. |

| There it is, boss. I'm sure you're ready to sign up these girls and get production started. It's worth an Oscar, maybe three. (And maybe a promotion for me. Ha, ha!) |
