A queen who makes friends

Tami Farrell of Oregon was crowned Miss Teen USA on Aug. 12, 2003, in
Palm Springs, Calif. In a crowd-pleasing turn of events, she was also
chosen Miss Congeniality by fellow contestants. She is the third Oregonian
to win the title, making her state the Teen USA champ.

Alicia Selby of Tennessee was the first runner-up, while Alicia Jaros of Michigan was the second runner-up. Jacqueline Bruno of Massachusetts was the third runner-up. The fourth runner-up was Jacklyn Pezzotta of New Jersey, who was also chosen Miss Photogenic. The remainder of the Top Ten were Amanda Nunnelley of Kentucky, Jasmine Jorgenson of Washington, Marisa Field of North Dakota, Camille Peraro of Hawaii and Brittany Jackson of Alaska.

Five other quarterfinalists were Jami Stallings of Indiana, Nikki Carver of Oklahoma, Alyssa Cook of Iowa, Ashley Alden of Maine and Tye Felan of Texas.

This was the first time the pageant was aired on NBC.
