Susan Williams loves | ![]()
|
![]() | PNB "discovered" Susan Williams at a 2002 Venus Model Search. As part of our relationship with Venus, we were already looking for a beauty to profile. But we would have picked out this stately young brunette even if we had gone there just to deliver flowers. Everybody noticed her that evening. "She's one of a kind," we said to each other. Everything about her was a surprise, starting with her name. |
| It's the kind of plain English name that half the girls in America used to have. But today, in a land of Jennifers, Keishas, Ambers and Brittanys, "Susan Williams" sounds almost exotic. She lives in the last place in the world we would have guessed: Arkansas. There's nothing wrong with Arkansas -- it's a beautiful state. But we had this lady pegged for Monaco, or the Hamptons, or maybe Palm Beach. She's so elegant in a hat, so sexy in a bikini. She needs an ocean she can stand beside, with an afternoon breeze to stroke her hair. | ![]() |

| And she's married. Now there's certainly nothing wrong with marriage, but Ms. Williams just doesn't look like somebody's wife. She looks like the leading lady in your favorite romantic movie, and surely your favorite romantic movie isn't about a married woman. But hearing about the marriage helped us understand why she stays in Arkansas. That's where her man is. And it's not as if she never sees the ocean. She's a frequent visitor to some of the world's most exciting tropical ports, and she often models on location. (She recently appeared on the cover of Escape magazine.) |

| There was one more surprise about Susan Williams: She's not just a model, she's a photographer. She has her own studio, and she's using her experience in front of the camera to improve her skill in taking pictures. Her eyes are not just beautiful, they recognize beauty. |
| We asked her if she ever takes photographs of scenery, like the delightful Arkansas landscapes. "No," she said, "scenery won't follow orders." In her case, it just might make an exception.
