A name you don't forget

Sno E. Blac
A lot of girls get rid of their old identities when they land in Hollywood. Lucille LeSueur became Joan Crawford. Norma Jeane Mortensen, who was really an L.A. girl anyway, became Marilyn Monroe. Estelle Eggleston was transformed into Stella Stevens.

So when you hear about a young actress and model in Hollywood named Sno E. Blac, you suspect that it's not her birth name. "In some town far away," you say to yourself, "she grew up as somebody else." Well, how right you are!

Sno E. Blac is none other than Jennifer Hughes, a teenager from Georgia whom we profiled a few years ago. She was not the biggest winner on the Southern pageant scene, but she got better each time. And when she finished school, she had the gumption (an old Southern word) to pursue her dreams to the land of the big fantasy.

And you've seen her -- somewhere. Maybe she wasn't the star in the bigger productions, but she was memorable. She has been in movies, on Tyra Banks' television show, in ads for various things. And she was Miss West Hollywood in the Miss California USA Pageant in 2006.

There's more to come in 2007. And now, even if you don't remember her (which you will), you won't forget that name. Sno E. Blac.

But be sure to spell it right. Sno with no "w" and Blac with no "k." And what does the "E" stand for? That's a Hollywood mystery. But it's not Estelle, and it's not Eggleston.
