OK, cartoon fans, did you know that Tinkerbelle's figure was modeled on Marilyn Monroe's? It's true. And it's proof that voluptuous beauties have a place even in enchanted lands.

We haven't heard much from Tinkerbelle or Peter Pan in recent years. Maybe their dangerous line of work caught up with them. But there is still an enchanted land that teems with voluptuous beauties. It calls to us on the warm breezes of our imagination. Its name is Resaca Beach.

The sour-faced skeptics say there's no such place, and sometimes they can be pretty convincing. They point out that the small town of Resaca, Ga., has never had a beach and is hundreds of miles from the ocean. And they note that the Miss Resaca Beach Poster Girl Contest is not even held in Resaca.

But is Resaca Beach really just a bikini neverland? No, because we've seen it with our own eyes. It's a highlight of our year.

Like all enchanted lands, Resaca Beach doesn't live by the clock or the seasons. (It does have a calendar, but more about that later.) Sometimes the Miss Resaca Beach Poster Girl Contest has been held in August, sometimes in June, sometimes in October. In 2005, it was in September.

There was one overall winner, Amberly French of Jasper, Ga. But a crew of other girls from the surrounding region won the right to join her on the famous Resaca Beach Calendar. Angela Page, Angie Elder, Ashley Allen, Ashley Cordell, Brittany King (the runner-up), Carolina Dalon, Cassi Cantrell, Christine Shen, Emily Knight, Mary K. Honea, Michelle Robinson, Renee Baker, Spencer Scott, Trista McCleary, Vikira Cramer.

PNB was there, and we loved it. We couldn't help clapping our hands, just like Peter Pan. The women made Tinkerbelle seem very small by comparison.

But were they real? What a thing to ask!
