From the Hamptons to Hawaii, from Ibiza to Australia, everybody's hunting for the perfect beach. It's the vacation obsession of the 21st century, and there are books, magazines and TV shows that are supposed to guide people to the seaside destination of their dreams. But for most people, that perfect beach has remained elusive, always just a little bit up the coast.

Until now. PNB's experts have just concluded an evaluation of the coastal areas of the world, and they have determined that only one beach deserves to be called perfect: Resaca Beach.
Our experts used four criteria in making their evaluation: Sun, sand, waves and beauty. Resaca Beach got a perfect score in each.

The sun at Resaca Beach comes up every morning and goes down every night. What could be more dependable?

The sand is of the smooth, refined variety, popularly known as glass. "Many glasses, each containing beer," one expert wrote in his report. (We think that's what he wrote, but it's hard to read a cocktail napkin). The winner, Breanne Ashley
The waves are perfect. The girls raise their arms and move their hands, and their bodies take on the same gentle motion. And when it comes to beauty, what other beach has such a concentration of gorgeous scenery?

Most delightfully, the scenery changes every year, usually in late summer.

PNB sent its largest contingent in history. On hand to meet the girls at a preliminary party was Leslie Sale, Miss Pageant.com, accompanied by PNB founder Gerdeen Dyer. Shooting photos (and doubling as a judge) was photographer Joe Whiteko, whose handiwork you see here.

We extend special thanks to skipper Dan Bowen, who discovered Resaca Beach and has turned it into paradise, and to the old beachcomber, Ron Arnold. We are also grateful for the hospitality of Zack Norville, a gentleman without peer.

Now, where did we put our sand?
