Tenna Reed Cooke accepts the winner's bouquet from former Miss Resaca Beach Holli Biggs. |
| This mythical strand is the site for the very real Resaca Beach Poster Girl Contest, which Bowen created and which has launched the careers of many memorable beauties. The contest ran annually from 1983 until 1995, then went into hiatus. Many in the pageant world feared it would never return. But in 1999, the girls of Resaca Beach took to the stage again, and the magic was back. The winner was Tenna Reed Cooke of Chattanooga, who also won the right to compete in the Miss Hit the Beach Pageant. The first runner-up was the reigning Miss Hit the Beach, Jennifer Corliss of Cumming, Ga. |
