Some people would call Rachel Altiere a bombshell. To us, she's more like a time bomb.

Just like a bomb in a movie. When you see a timing device strapped to a bundle of dynamite, when you see the hand advancing relentlessly toward the 12 o'clock position, you know that something explosive is going to happen. Very soon. Tick ... tick ... tick.

Someday soon, Ms. Altiere is going to win a major beauty title. It's a strong possibility every time the athletic Ohio beauty steps on a pageant stage. She has been a runner-up, a finalist, Miss Photogenic. Again and again she has come close. And people who see her say, "One of these days ..."

It's surely going to happen, unless some other glamorous opportunity steals her away from the pageant world. She works in a big beauty-oriented company, and occasionally she fields phone calls from supermodels. Maybe tomorrow, maybe next week, someone in the office will notice that she looks like a supermodel herself.

Busy bosses or pageant judges, somebody soon will recognize Rachel Altiere as a winner. Prophecy is a dangerous business, but that's what we predict.

Just like in the movies. When they cut to the hero, when they cut to the villain, when they cut to the chase, hurry and get your popcorn. The very next time they cut to the bomb, it could be the big one.
