Miss Asia Pacific | ![]()

| Pakistan has had its share of tragedy in recent years, but its pageant community has been an inspiration to the world. As spring moved toward summer in Karachi in 2004, an act of terrorism shocked the people of the great city and plunged many into mourning. It hardly seemed appropriate to make the latest Pakistani pageant a lavish affair, but organizers did not wish to disappoint innocent young women because of the wrongdoing of others. Fifteen girls from around the country came to compete. Young architect and TV host Rafi Ahmed, fashion designer Dania Habib and beautician Azmat Tariq, Mrs. Globe Indus 2004, had a tough time picking one, but they made a choice that would make any nation proud. |

| The winner of Miss Asia Pacific Pakistan Quest 2004 was Rumee Gull, Miss Sukkur, a 19-year-old with a stunning figure. Known as RG, she's a law student who already holds a graduate degree in psychology and plans to become a judge. Ms. Gull will compete in China in September. Pakistan will be represented in the Asian International Continental contest after an absence of 18 years. There was one sad note. Natasha Newcombe, Miss Pakistan Quest 2003, was unable to crown her successor because she suffered a serious accident a week before the contest. Her rapid recovery will make everyone's joy complete. |
