She will certainly be put in the spotlight several times, and it will be interesting to see how she will handle questions regarding politics, damage to environment and other international issues surrounding Pakistan and the world. There is also a question of how she will continue the work of environmental protection in Pakistan, which was the work of the outgoing Miss Pakistan, Najah Ghassan, and is the main purpose of the Miss Pakistan Quest organization.
Seventeen-year-old Isheta, a striking beauty from Bengal, grabbed the first runner-up position, and another high school student, Rafia, went on to become the second runner-up of the national beauty pageant.
The pageant was held in a story style, depicting a typical Pakistani family with different roles for women. Up-and-coming designer Omar Butt did extremely well with his surpassingly creative wardrobe for the pageant and the preliminaries. Though Omar right now designs for some la mode socialites and film stars, he is desirous to work again with the organization. In a black evening gown designed by Omar, Ms. Ghassan looked stunning, though she was a little upset at losing her crown. Still, she really is looking forward to her trip to Malaysia in April for Miss Tourism Intercontinental, and we wish her the very best in all her future endeavors. |
