Most Americans watch the Super Bowl, at least briefly, on television every February. Maybe they only tune in to watch the expensive commercials debut, or to see whether a halftime entertainer strips the clothes off his female partner. Maybe they watch the game --- at least for a few plays. Whatever they see, it's mostly from the comfortable vantage point of a packed living room.

But some brave souls like to roam the streets during the days before the big clash, especially if the big clash is in Miami. What a parade of humanity on those streets! Millionaires, billionaires, movie stars, bimbos, hustlers, journalists, cops. Men who make their living by taking a beating. Women who make their living by looking too good to be true. It's a jungle out there, and there may even be a few real pythons in the shrubbery.

PNB photographer Paul Fong is a man who has seen it all in this cauldron of hipness known as South Florida. And he can capture it in his magic box. He only needs the right light and the right words. "Look this way, baby. You've been shot before, but never like this." (No, he doesn't use those words. He's way cooler than that.)
When the beautiful people play, who needs a football field? All they need is Fong.
