Teoh Tiang Jing, 20, a marine engineering graduate from the Singapore Polytechnic, was chosen Mister World Singapore 2006 on last Sept. 27, 2006, in Singapore. He also won Mr. Lifestyle. He will represent Singapore in Mr. World 2006. The first runner-up was Rueben Kee, who was also Mr Physique. The second runner-up was Alfhian Bin Dalan, who was Mr. Photogenic. The third runner-up was Gary Tay, and the fourth runner-up was Jonathan Tan. Tatana Kucharova, 18, of the Czech Republic was crowned Miss World 2006 on Sept. 30, 2006, in Warsaw, Poland. The first runner-up was Joana Valentina Boitor, 17, of Romania. The second runner-up was Sabrina Houssami, 20, of Australia. This year's pageant, held earlier than many in the recent past, went smoothly despite false rumors some weeks beforehand that it would be moved to Moscow at the last minute. Scarlett Johansson, who burst onto the Hollywood scene as a teenager and has become one of the world's great film stars, has been chosen Esquire magazine's "Sexiest Woman Alive." The classically voluptuous beauty, now 21, will appear in a special spread in the magazine's November 2006 issue. Anna Melomud was crowned Miss Ohio USA 2007 on Sept. 23, 2006. Alexis Semach was the first runner-up, and Amanda Holzen was the second runner-up. Meredith Driscoll was the third runner-up, and Meghan Leak was the fourth runner-up. Ms. Leak was Miss Congeniality, and Brittany Jordan was Miss Photogenic. Rachel Epperly of Gahanna was crowned Miss Ohio Teen USA 2007. Lindsay Hanson was the first runner-up, and Courtney Terbovich was the third runner-up. Meagan Cyrus was the third runner-up, and Elizabeth Babicke was the fourth runner-up. Miss Congeniality was Victoria Mihalich, and Rachel Lee was chosen Most Photogenic. Dorota Gawron of Poland has been crowned Miss Baltic Sea and Scandinavia 2007. The first runner-up was Zaklina Zojic of Denmark, and the second runner-up was Sif Aradottir of Iceland. Faina Kazennova, 18, of Kiel was crowned Miss Schleswig-Holstein on Sept. 23, 2006. In keeping with the ethnic intermingling that is changing the face of the European pageant scene, she is of Russian origin. She will represent the state of Schleswig-Holstein in Miss Deutschland (Germany Universe) 2007 on Jan. 20, 2007 The Atlantic Shores Queens were crowned on Sept. 17, 2006, on the Atlantic coast of the United States. Lauren Shipe was chosen Teen Miss Atlantic Shores 2007 (representing Eastern Shores); Jennifer Johnson was chosen Miss Atlantic Shores 2007 (representing Eastern Shores); Rechel Durham was crowned Ms. Atlantic Shores 2007 (representing Delaware); Kimberly White-Geremia was crowned Mrs. Atlantic Shores 2007 (representing Connecticut); and Esther Glass was chosen Atlantic Shores Super Model 2007 (representing Virginia). Ms. White-Geremia also won the pageant's Community Service Award. Photogenic winners were: Teen - Ms. Shipe; Miss - Deesha Pritchard; Ms. - Susannah Watson and Mrs. - Laurie Zimmerman. Ana Katiuce da Rocha-Failler, 18, of Mörfelden-Walldorf was crowned Miss Luisencenter Darmstadt 2006 on Sept. 23, 2006, in Darmstadt, Germany. She is of Brazilian origin. The first runner-up was Sarah Forkert, 22, of Künzell, and the second runner-up was Carolin Flaig, 18, of Darmstadt. All three will compete in the Miss Hessen 2006/2007 Pageant around the turn of the year. The winner of that pageant will represent the state of Hessen in Miss Deutschland (Germany Universe) 2007 on Jan. 20, 2007. Mario Danz of Hofheim/Taunus was chosen Mister Hessen on Sept. 23, 2006, in Darmstadt, Germany. The first runner-up was Dominique Spöck of Alsbach-Hähnlein, and the second runner-up was Andreas Birn of Birkenau. Caitlin Andrews was crowned Miss Gwinnett County (Georgia) on Sept. 16, 2006, in Lawrenceville, Ga. She was also the evening wear and talent winner. The first runner-up was Kimberly Gittings, who was the swimsuit winner. The second runner-up was Kaylin Reque. The third runner-up was budding journalist Ashley Gholamhosseini, who has written for PNB. Emilyn Leiva of Florida has been crowned Miss Teen US Continental in Salt Lake City. E-Dee Martin of Colorado was crowned Ms. US Continental, and Tiffany Nelson of Utah was crowned Mrs. US Continental. Caycee Elizabeth Ohl, 6, of Harrisville, W.Va., has been crowned Ritchie County's Most Photogenic. It was her first pageant. At an elite event in Atlanta, Hayley Wilson was chosen Miss Auroura Pre-Teen 2006. Mary Alice Oakley was the first runner-up, and Noelle Hughley was the second runner-up. Kristen Cochran was the third runner-up. Nichelle Irish was the fourth runner-up. Dyci Manns was crowned Miss Auroura Teen 2006. Sara Diggins was the first runner-up, and Margaret Ivey was the second runner-up. Hannah Dibble was the third runner-up. Keri Walker was the fourth runner-up. Ijeoma Uzochukwu was crowned Miss Auroura 2006. Melody Rose Saldivar was the first runner-up. Andrea Kinch was the second runner-up, and Lindsey Hodges was the third runner-up. The first runner-up was Kathrin Gläser, and the second runner-up was Sabrina Tölpe. Christa Rigozzi, 23, of Monte Carasso was crowned Miss Switzerland on Sept.9, 2006, in Geneva. The student of criminology and law will represent the country at Miss Universe. She is the first Miss Switzerland from the Italian-speaking region of the country since 1996. The first runner-up was Xenia Tchoumitcheva, and the second runner-up was Sabine Heierli. Kelley Bradshaw of Georgia was crowned Miss National Sweetheart on Labor Day weekend 2006 in Hoopeston, Ill. The pageant features runner-up from Miss America state pageants, and Georgia has had a record of success in recent years. The first runner-up to Ms. Bradshaw was Katie Boyd of Alabama, and the second runner-up was Gina Valo of Michigan. The third runner-up was Elyse Umemoto of Washington. The fourth runner-up was Caressa Cameron of Virginia. Miss Congeniality was Jill Stevens of Utah. Anastagia Pierre was crowned Miss Teen Dream Girl America on Sept. 2, 2006, in Jacksonville. She is a former Miss Florida Teen USA. Lindsay Watters was crowned Miss Dream Girl America. The Teen runners-up were Dani Feigenberg (first), Myriaha Musgrave (second), and Laura Boyd (third). The Miss runners-up were Justine Lane (first), Samantha Snyder (second) and Kaleigh Gleeson (third). The Supermodels With Style winners, chosen by Supermodels Unlimited magazine, were Kaitlin Russell in the Teen category and Sherri Leaf in the Miss category. Ms. Musgrave was the Talent winner. Ms. Feigenberg was the first runner-up, Ms. Watters was the second runner-up and Ms. Pierre was the third runner-up. The Photogenic winners were Ms. Pierre in Teen and Ms. Snyder in Miss. The Miss Photogenic runners-up were Ms. Watters (first), Laurie Conley (second) and Haley Huff (third). Marianna Valente has been crowned Miss Latina Canada World 2007 in Toronto. She is of Brazilian heritage. The first runner-up was Stephany Garcia, and the second runner-up was Lorena Patino. The third runner-up was Lorraine Agostino, and the fourth runner-up was Zoelmi Mitre-Caceras. The fifth runner-up was Daniela Vasquez. Sara Dee Harrigfeld of Iowa was crowned Miss International USA 2006 on Aug. 25, 2006, in Palm Springs. She is the official U.S. delegate to the Miss International Pageant. The first alternate was Tamara Stuart of California, who also captured the Photogenic and Evening Gown awards. The fourth annual Miss and Ms. California Urban USA pageant took place on Aug. 12, 2006, in Walnut Creek, CA. Isabelle Du (Miss Orange County) was crowned as Miss California Urban USA 2007 and was named Miss Photogenic and Miss Congeniality. Kelsey Serna (Miss Contra Costa County) was the first runner-up. Nicole Maree Morris Maria De Santis, representing New York, was crowned Miss America's Outstanding Teen 2007 on Aug. 19, 2006, in Orlando. She was also a preliminary talent winner. She is the second winner in the history of this teen "little sister" pageant to Miss America. The first runner-up was Nina Davuluri of Michigan, a preliminary evening gown winner. The second runner-up was Brittany Young of Virginia, a preliminary talent winner. The third runner-up was Leah Beth Bolton of Arkansas, a preliminary evening gown and sportswear winner. The fourth runner-up was Dorothy Shepard of Arkansas, a preliminary evening gown and sportswear winner. PNB is grateful for the kind hospitality afforded Marzena Cieslik, 24, has been crowned Miss Poland 2006. She will go to Miss World 2006. The first runner-up was Dorota Gawron, 22, and the second runner-up was Judyta Mojzesz, 20. Melody Selvon, 16, was crowned Miss Mauritius on Aug. 18, 2006. According to the text she is supposed to represent Mauritius in Miss Universe next year. The first runner-up was Sandra Faro. The second runner-up was Eliana Jeeban. Kendra Beneby won the Theodore Elyett's Miss Teen Bahamas World 2006 pageant on Aug. 13, 2006. She will compete in the Miss Teen International contest. Dawna Heising has been crowned Classic Ms. Worldwide 2006 at the international Worldwide pageant in Temecula, Calif. Anushka Haughton, 17, has been crowned Miss Teen Jamaica 2006. She also won Miss Congeniality. Caitlin Barrett, Miss Teenage California 2006, was crowned Miss Teen of the Nation 2006 in Las Vegas on Aug. 6, 2006. She becomes the second Miss Teenage California to win the title. Tara Dale Sanders won in 2002. Carolina Raven was crowned Miss Aruba on Aug. 5, 2006. She will represent Aruba in Miss Universe 2007. The first runner-up was Zenny Donata. Brittney Dimes, 18, a sophomore at the University of Texas in Austin was crowned Miss United Nation US 2006 on July 31, 2006, in Anaheim, Calif. She is the first African-American to win this title. Thirty-five days before, she was crowned Miss Texas United Nation 2006, and was also the first African-American to win that title. Paula Folkers of Nebraska was crowned National Mrs. 2006 on July 29, 2006, in Pigeon Forge, Tenn. She also captured the Interview Award. The first runner-up was Rebecca Crosen of Virginia, who also captured the Swimsuit, Evening Gown and Photogenic awards. The second runner-up was Melissa Hagan of Florida, and the third runner-up was Nancy Paradiese of Minnesota. The fourth runner-up was Susan Jackson of Wisconsin. Kayla Downs of Arizona has been crowned Ms. United States 2006 in Las Vegas. The first alternate was Deanny Mory of California, and the second alternate was Catherine Kim of Virginia. The third alternate was Julianne Pruitt of Florida. Ms. Kim was the Photogenic winner, and Ms. Congeniality was Aimee Broussard of Louisiana. The Creative Ad winner was Skylene Montgomery of West Virginia, and the Community Service winner was Kristin Hamerski of Alaska. Dawn Basham of Florida was crowned Ms. United States Woman 2006. The first alternate was Rosalie Allain of Massachusetts, and the second alternate was Daphne Rice of Michigan, who was the Photogenic winner. The third alternate was Jo Phelps of Virginia. Jo-El Lacy, Ms. Illinois Galaxy 2006, was crowned Ms. Galaxy International 2007 -- the new national titleholder in the Ms. division -- on July 29, 2006, in Orlando at the national pageant. Ms. Lacy, 32, of Chicago, who works in publicity and event promotion, will make appearances nationwide on behalf of the Galaxy pageant programs. Mercedes Meyer, 16, of Iowa, was crowned Miss Junior Teen Iowa CoEd earlier in the month and will compete at the National CoEd Pageant in Florida over the Thanksgiving holiday. Malgosia Majewska, 25, Miss Peel Region, was crowned Miss World Canada in a gala event in downtown Toronto on July 16, 2006. She succeeds 2005 Miss World semi-finalist Ramona Amiri and will compete at the Miss World Contest in Poland this September. The first runner-up was Ashley Bursey, 20, representing Newfoundland & Labrador, and the second runner-up was Grace Russell, 20, representing Edmonton. Aminata Farmo, 25, Miss Gatineau, was the third runner-up and Shannon Bowles, Miss Victoria, 25, was the fourth runner-up. Ms. Majewska also won the Totum Fitness Miss Sport fast-track prize (automatically giving her a berth among the 15 semi-finalists) while Bowles won the Miss Point Zero Ocean Swimwear fast-track contest. Daphne Choi, 22, Miss North York, won the "Beauty With A Purpose" fast-track component, for raising just under $10,000 for the Miss World Canada 2006 Official Charity, the Rock Solid Foundation www.rocksolid.bc.ca). Other fast-track winners were Jenna-Lee Creelman, 23, Miss Brampton (Canoe.ca People's Choice Award Winner) and Sasha Abunnadi, 23, Miss B.C. Coast (Best in Interview). It was described, on good authority, as one of the best Canadian pageants in recent memory. Pilato Productions crowned its 2006 Angelic Queen of America National Winners on July 15, 2006. Contestants were judged 50 percent on achievements, 25 percent on overall appearance and 25 percent on overall impression. The following were the winners. Jenna Edwards, 24, was crowned Miss Florida USA 2007 on July 15, 2006. She is a former Miss Florida in the Miss America system and a former Miss Teen All American. Yazmin Navarro was the first runner-up. Perla Welch, representing Florida, has been crowned Miss Latin Gay International 2006. It was the first staging of the new pageant. Miss Commonwealth Bahamas, Aquelle Plakaris, won the Miss Commonwealth International title in London on the third weekend of July 2006. Miss Teen Commonwealth Bahamas, Rashanna Thompson, won the Miss Teen Commonwealth International title. It was the first victory for the Bahamas and the first time one country won both titles. Shilah Phillips has been crowned Miss Texas 2006 and will compete at Miss America. The first runner-up was Molly Hazlett, and the second runner-up was Shea Yarborough. The third runner-up was Brooke Webster, and the fourth runner-up was Heather Hodges. Crowned Miss Texas' Outstanding Teen 2006 was Kendall Morris. Shelley Bryson Benthall, 20, was crowned Miss South Carolina on July 8, 2006, in Spartanburg. She will represent the state at Miss America. The first runner-up was Angela Michele Walker, and the second runner-up was Mandy Ticknor. The third runner-up was Ashley Ann Dingle, and the fourth runner-up was Laura Katherine Stamm. Maggie Hill, 17, Miss Lexington Teen, was crowned Miss South Carolina Teen and will compete at Miss America's Outstanding Teen. Ms. Benthall won the teen title in 2003. Allison Kreiger, competing as Miss Miami, was crowned Miss Florida on July 8, 2006. It was her 23rd birthday. She will represent the Sunshine State at Miss America. The first runner-up was Megan Clementi, 22, and the second runner-up was Kylie Williams, 22. The third runner-up was Lisa Van Alstine, 22, and the fourth runner-up was Danielle Mortimer, 22. Deandrea Concliffe was crowned Miss Bahamas World 2006 in Nassau on July 8, 2006. She also won the swimsuit award. She will represent the Bahamas at Miss World 2006 in Warsaw. The first runner-up was Kendi Smith, who will represent the Bahamas at Miss Intercontinental 2006. She was also the winner of the Beauty with a Purpose Achievement Award and the Talent winner. The second runner-up was Alexandra Deal, who will represent the Bahamas at Miss Asia Pacific International 2006. She also won the Best Hair award. Sherwaine Fergson, one of the six finalists, won Miss Photogenic, The Best Evening Gown and Best Complexion awards. The remaining finalists were Tia Butler and Shannelle Newton. The Miss Congeniality winner was Tricia Hilton. The Miss Tourism Queen International 2006 was held in Hangzhou, China, on July 8, 2006. The winner was Justine Gabionza of the Philippines. The first runner-up was Gordan Strojin of Serbia and Montenegro, and the second runner-up was Eboundt Blanda of Congo. The third runner-up was Ssunita Laximi Rai of Singapore, and the fourth runner-up was Livia Baroque Barbosa of Brazil. Continental Queens winners were: for Asia - Chen Yan Yu of China, a Top 10 finalist; Africa - Ms. Blanda; Europe - Ms. Strojin; Oceania - Robles Santiago of Puerto Rico, a top 10 finalist; Americas - Ms. Barbosa. The Global America Pageant took place on July 1, 2006, in Florence, S.C. Eight women were crowned. They are: Teen Miss Global America 2006 -- Nicole Butts of South Carolina; Miss Global America 2006 -- Gloria Anglon of Maryland; Ms. Global America 2006 -- Bernadette Wolfe of Florida; Global America Mrs. 2006 -- Lara Galaviz of North Carolina; Global America Classic Ms. 2006 -- Karen Hauck of Pennsylvania; Global America Woman 2006 -- Stephanie Johnson of North Carolina; Global America Lady 2006 -- Angela Howell of Georgia; Global America Elite 2006 -- Rebecca Richardson of North Carolina. Melissa Quesada, 27, has been crowned Miss Latin America 2006 in Riviera Maya, Mexico. It is the first time in the 23-year modern history of Organizacion Miss America Latina, Inc., the representative from the United States has won the crown. The first runner-up was Neolida Hernandez of the Canary Islands, and the second runner-up was Xiomara Blandina of Nicaragua. The 2006 winners of the Miss and Mr. Junior South Africa have been crowned in Port Elizabeth, South Africa. The winners are: Miss Tiny South Africa -- Mire Allan, Gauteng; Miss Petite South Africa -- Meagan-Leigh Schemel, North West; Miss Pre-Teen South Africa -- Mikaela Oosthuizen, Eastern Cape; Miss Junior South Africa -- Cecile Brits, Gauteng; Mr. Tiny South Africa -- Tristan Botha, Eastern Cape; Mr. Pre-Teen South Africa -- Kelvin Roos, North West; Mr. Junior South Africa -- John James Maritz, Eastern Cape. The first runner-up was Alycia McCullough, Miss Butler County, and the second runner-up was Kimberly Rogers, Miss Keystone.
