Jennifer Gonzalez has been crowned Miss Latina New Jersey 2005/2006 along with Best Fantasy Costume, Best Smile, Miss Bikini Latina New Jersey and Miss Cooperation. Destiny Davila was crowned Miss Teen Latina New Jersey and Miss Photogenic. Both titleholders will compete in Miss Latina Universal Pageant in August 2006 in Miami. The runner ups were in the Miss Category were Oneyri Urena, who was first runner-up and Miss Elegance, and Hidalis Herrera, who was second runner-up. In the Teen Category, Joanna Espinal was Miss Congeniality and first runner-up, and Jennifer Torres was the second runner-up. Other winners were Brunilda Tejada, "Latina with Style," Ana Espinal, "Most Changed" and Natalie Espinal, "People's Choice."

Ashley Miller has been chosen Top Model of the USA 2005. Selected by PageantCrown.com, she will represent the United States in the 13th annual Top Model of the World finals Oct. 25 to Nov. 13, 2005, in Humen, China. In 2004, she was third runner-up in PageantCrown’s Miss Kentuckiana Pageant. She returned in 2005 and placed as first runner-up, earning a spot in the 2005 America's National Miss Pageant. She was second runner-up in the latter pageant, after placing first in both the runway and evening gown competitions. She was presented with The Most Beautiful Face Award.

Miss Global Queen international 2005 was held on Sept. 24, 2005, in XiangShan City, China. The winner was Joanna Leskiewicz of Brisbane, Australia. The first runner-up was Johna Lema Kwasow of Munich, Germany, and the second runner-up was Kristel Marisse Tingzon of Manila, Philippines. The third runner-up was Juliana Liptakova of Bratislava, Slovak Republic, and the fourth runner-up was Bai Shan of Harbin, China.

Alessandra Mezquita, 21, was crowned Miss Panama Universe on Sept. 25, 2005. Ana Vaprio, 21, was crowned Miss Panama World. The first runner-up was Issy Rengifo, the second runner-up was Debbie González, and the third runner-up was Sorangel Matos. Miss Friendship and Miss L'Oreal was Gladis Espinoza, Miss Internet was Nadya Hendricks, Miss Photogenic and Chica Cover Girl was Sasha Carlton. The winner for best skin was Delia Montenegro.

Jennifer Holes of Pennsylvania has been named Miss Scholastic Pride National Supreme in the Scholastic Pride Achievement Pageant national competition. She also holds the titles 2005 Miss American Rose National Scholar Princess, Jr. Miss Royal Star USA National Queen, 2005 21st Century Commercial Model of the Year, and 2005 Miss American Rose Calendar Cover Model. Jennifer has also been featured in the Working Mother's magazine, in a sales ad promoting products for the Lisa Frank Club, Inc. Gabrielle Boyadjian of Las Vegas has been named Miss Scholastic Pride National Mini-Supreme in the Scholastic Pride Achievement Pageant and is the winner of the National Talent Award.

Hanna Gabrielle Fitz, 22, has been chosen Miss Earth St. Lucia. She will compete in the annual Miss Earth Pageant in Manila.

Lily Wu, a senior at Wichita State University pursuing a double degree in International Business and Integrated Marketing Communication, was crowned Miss Ethnic World 2006 at the international competition held in Miami on Sept. 4, 2005. It was her 21st birthday. In addition to winning the title, she received the overall highest scores in the Personal Interview, Evening Gown, and Academic Achievement areas of competition. Other areas of competition included Talent/Cultural Expression, 80s Fashion and
Community Service. On Aug. 26, 2005, Ms. Wu represented the United States in the Miss Chinese World pageant in Kuala Lumpur, Malaysia, and was selected as one of the “Top 10” finalists and “Top 6” in the talent competition. She is also a former PNB cover girl.

Zhao Ting Ting was crowned Miss China World 2005 on Sept. 20, 2005. She will represent China at Miss World 2005 in Sanya, China. She also won the award of Best Performance. The first runner-up was Cui Xin Xin, and the second runner-up was Mao Huan, who won the Most Elegant Award. Miss World chief Julia Morley was on hand for the event, showing the growing relationship between the Miss World Pageant and the world's most populous nation.

Andrea Preuss, competing as Mrs. California, was crowned Mrs. America on Sept. 18, 2005, in Palm Springs, Calif. She is 32 and from Huntington Beach. Mrs. America is the oldest pageant in the United States for married women. The first runner-up was Stephanie Tsarsi, 35, of New York, and the second runner-up was Jennifer Tapang, 27, of Washington state. The third runner-up was Jessica Walbridge, 25, of Wyoming, and the fourth runner-up was Ann Truman-Ball, 23, of Nevada. Mrs. Mississippi, Missy Walters of Mississippi was Mrs. Congeniality, and Heather Ieyoub of Louisiana won for best costume.

Danelle Gay, 24, was crowned Miss Michigan USA 2006 on Sept. 17, 2005, in the city of Port Huron. Raquel McClendon, 16, was crowned Miss Michigan Teen USA. They will represent the state in their respective national pageants.

Lauriane Gilleron, 21, was crowned Miss Switzerland on Sept. 17, 2005. She is the first resident of the country's French-speaking region to win the title in a decade. The first runner-up was Melanie Meier, who was Miss Photogenic. The second runner-up was Fabienne Kropf. Marie-Annick Horton was Miss Congeniality. Ms. Gilleron will compete at Miss World and Miss Universe.

Erina Patterson, a violinist, was crowned Miss Gwinnett County on Sept. 17, 2005, in Lawrenceville, Ga. She also won the talent award. The first runner-up was Tiffany Davis, who won the interview award, and the second runner-up was Aundrea Poole, who won the swimsuit award. The third runner-up was Kristina Higgins. Ms. Patterson will compete at the 2006 Miss Georgia Pageant.

Amberly French of Jasper, Ga., was crowned Miss Resaca Beach on Sept. 10, 2005, in Dalton, Ga., the event's longtime home. The runner-up was Brittany King of Mableton, Ga. Others who won coveted spots on the Resaca Beach calendar were Angela Page of Atlanta, Angie Elder of Chattanooga, Ashley Allen of Canton, Ga., Ashley Cordell of Hephzibah, Ga., Carolina Dalton of Knoxville, Tenn., Cassi Cantrell of Canton, Ga., Christine Shen of Dacula, Ga., Emily Knight of Lawrenceville, Ga., Mary K. Honea of Jackson, Ga, Michelle Robinson of Barnesville, Ga., Renee Baker of Loganville, Ga., Spencer Scott of Dallas, Ga., Trista McCleary of McDonough, Ga., and Vikira Cramer of Marietta, Ga. Gari McDonald was officially stripped of her Miss Teen Bahamas crown on Sept. 7, 2005. The action by the pageant committee came several days after Ms. McDonald, 18, was reportedly threatened with a civil action for allegedly sexually harassing another woman, and after she subsequently acknowledged being gay. The committee and Ms. McDonald appeared to differ over whether the alleged misconduct or her sexual orientation led to her losing her title. Kandra Knowles, 14, was tapped to replace Ms. McDonald.

Tolgahan Sayisman, a 24-year-old model from Istanbul, Turkey, was the winner of Manhunt International 2005 on Sept. 8, 2005. He also won the Best Runway Model award in the pageant, which was held in Pusan, South Korea. The first runner-up wsa Agris Blaubuks of Latvia, and the second runner-up was Henry Romero of Curacao. The third runner-up was Chen Ze Yu, and the fourth runner-up was Romeo Quinones of Puerto Rico. The Model of the Year 2005 contest was held in conjunction with this event, and Bridget Inoferio from the Philippines was the winner. The first runner-up was Yuan Yuan of China, and the second runner-up was Julia Liptakova of the Slovak Republic. It was the first win for Turkey at Manhunt International, and the first for the Philippines at Model of the Year. It was also announced that Manhunt International 2006 will be held in April 2006 in JinJiang City, China.

The Miss Florida Pageant announced on Sept. 6, 2005, that its current titleholder, Candace Cragg, had resigned two days earlier. Ms. Cragg, who had been Miss Florida for roughly two months, was supposed to have been the state's contestant in the newly revamped Miss America Pageant. The pageant did not give a reason for the departure, but did announce that Mari Wilensky, who was first runner-up to Ms. Cragg, was taking over the title. Ms. Wilensky finished in the Top 10, the contest for Miss America state runners-up, on the same weekend Ms. Cragg resigned.

Adrielle Churchill of Arkansas was crowned National Sweetheart on Labor Day Weekend 2005 in Hoopeston, Ill. The pageant, which is open to Miss America runners-up but has no formal affiliation with Miss America, is held in conjunction with the National Sweetcorn Festival. The first runner-up was Amanda Kozak of Georgia, and the second runner-up was Emily Willis of Pennsylvania. The third runner-up was Angela Corsi of Michigan. The fourth runner-up was Jamie Ginn of New Jersey. Angel Blue of California won the Pat Musk Non-Finalist Talent Award.

Jill McLain has been crowned Miss Montana USA 2006. Katie Blair has been crowned Miss Montana Teen USA 2006. Less than 24 hours after winning their titles, they appeared in crowns and sashes to participate in the MDA (Muscular Dystrophy Association) Telethon in Billings, Mont.

Cancún, on the Mexican Riviera, has been chosen as the location for the Miss Latina U.S. 2005 and Miss Teen U.S. Latina 2005 competitions. The combined pageant, to be held between Sept. 25 and Oct. 2, 2005, comes at a time when U.S.-Mexican cooperation has been accelerated by the tragedy on the U.S. Gulf Coast.

The US National Forestry Pageant was held in Tifton, Ga., on Sept. 3, 2005. The winners will represent the National Forestry Industry throughout the nation. Winners were crowned in several categories. Lauren Etchells was crowned 2005 Tiny Miss US National Forestry Queen. The first runner-up was Calyne Phung, and the second runner-up was Caley Driggers. The third runner-up was Jasmine Todd, and the fourth runner-up was Victoria Sapp. Ms. Driggers was the People's Choice winner, and Ms. Etchells won Prettiest Dress and Prettiest Smile winner. The Photogenic winner was Noelle Clearman. Crystal Mock was crowned 2005 Little Miss US National Forestry Queen. The first runner-up was Hannah Anderson, and the second runner-up was Hannah Hill. The Photogenic winner was Ms. Anderson, while Ms. Mock was the Prettiest Dress and Prettiest Smile winner. Taylor Stanfield was crowned 2005 Junior Miss US National Forestry Queen. The first runner-up was Jaicee Brewton, and the second runner-up was Cheyanne Yarbrough. The third runner-up was Katy Bland, and the fourth runner-up was Ejaye Craig. Ms. Stanfield was the Prettiest Smile winner, and Ms. Yarbrough was the Photogenic winner. The Prettiest Dress winner was Cheyanne Yarbrough, and Miss Hospitality was Ms. Craig. Laura Warren was crowned 2005 Teen Miss US National Forestry Queen. The first runner-up was Melinda Anderson, and the second runner-up was Tara Blankenship. Ms. Warren was the Interview and Speech winner. Ms. Blankenship was the Photogenic, Prettiest Smile and Prettiest Dress winner. Ms. Anderson was Miss Congeniality. Crystal Haralson was crowned 2005 Miss US National Forestry Queen. The first runner-up was Whitney Kudela, and the second runner-up was Leah Lewis. The third runner-up was Jessica Black, and the fourth runner-up was Hailey Duke. Ms. Haralson was Speech winner and Prettiest Dress winner. Ms. Black was Interview winner. Ms. Duke was Photogenic winner and Miss Congeniality. The Prettiest Smile winner was Megan Deats.

Hammasa Kohistani, 18, was chosen Miss England on Sept, 3, 2005, and will represent the country at Miss World in December 2005 in China. Born in Uzbekistan of Afghan parentage, she is the first Muslim to be Miss England. Four Muslim women competed in the pageant, disputing the claim by some people that pageants are incompatible with the Islamic religion.

Priscila Perales, 22, representing Nuevo Leon, was crowned Nuestra Belleza Mexico on Sept. 2, 2005. She will represent the country at Miss Universe. Karla Jimenez, 22, representing Puebla, was crowned Nuestra Belleza Mundo, and will compete at Miss World. The first runner-up was Daniela Cosio of Baja California Sur.

Malwina Ratajczak was crowned Miss Polonia 2005 on Sept. 2, 2005. She will represent Poland at Miss World 2005. The first runner-up was Magda Zalewska, who is likely to compete at Miss Universe 2006. The second runner-up was Agata Paskudzka.

The Ms. Petite and Ms. Plus Universal 2006 pageants were held in Indianapolis on Aug. 28, 2005. The new Ms. Teen Petite Universal is Melina Ingles, 14, who represented Puerto Rico. The first runner-up was Dymond Hayes of Missouri, and the second runner-up was Morgan Wright of Chile. Ms. Ingles was also the Contestant's Choice Winner. Ms. Wright was selected the Ms. Universal Supermodel. The new Ms. Petite Universal is Traci Hahn, 19, who represented Indiana. The first runner-up was Jessica Tharp of the Midwest., and the second runner-up was Jessica White of Bargersville. The third runner-up was Tracy Cheung of the United States. The new Ms. Petite Universal Woman is MaryAnn Conte, representing Southern Indiana. She also won runner-up in overall interview, photogenic, and gown. The first runner-up was Kathy Lauer of the Southwest, who won the Overall Interview award. The second runner-up was Motise Jones, who also won Overall Evening Gown. The third runner-up was Irma Almeda of Mexico, and the fourth runner-up was Leah Anderson of the Midwest. Bunmi Shonukan of Nigeria won runner-up to Best Fashion and Miss Congeniality. The new Ms. Plus Teen Universal is Samantha Kozyra, 19, of Indiana. She also won the Overall Fashion Wear award.

Winners of the National Miss U.S. of America Pageant were crowned in Uncasville, Conn., on Aug. 28, 2005. Crowned Little Miss U.S. of America was Jewel Joy Stevens of New York, a 6-year-old who also won the Overall Model title. Pre-Teen Miss U.S. of America was Angela-Marie Conklin of New Hampshire. Teen U.S. of America was Jacinta Devlin of Maine. She also won the Overall Photogenic title and Best Eyes Award. Crowned Miss U.S. of America was Marcy Degol of Delaware, the recipient of the Best Smile Award. Chosen as Ms. U.S. of America was Susan Rehr of Pennsylvania, and crowned Classic Ms U.S. of America was Maria Beall of Virginia. Ms. Beall, a former PNB cover girl, also was the Overall High Point Winner of a $5,000 award.

The Miss America Organization and Atlantic City have announced that the next pageant will be somewhere else. The pageant was born in 1921 in the New Jersey resort and has never been held anywhere else. But the city and the pageant say the departure is by mutual agreement, as Miss America tries to revive itself as a cable TV show after losing a longtime network contract. The pageant will be held in January 2006 on CMT in a format not yet specified. Insiders say the venue will almost certainly be Orlando, Fla., where the Miss America's Outstanding Teen Pageant was recently held. Atlantic City indicated that the pageant may eventually come home. That's the hope, anyway.

Saana Anttila, 23, was crowned Miss Finland World 2005 on Aug. 21, 2005. She will represent the country at the Miss World 2005 Pageant. Katri Sainio was the first runner-up, and Rosa-Maria Malvalehto was the second runner-up.

Meghan Miller of Texas was crowned Miss America's Outstanding Teen on Aug. 20, 2005, in Orlando, Fla. The petite 17-year-old is the very first winner of the pageant, which is the "little sister" event to Miss America. Ms. Miller, an aspiring corporate lawyer, performed a ventriloquism act for her talent, using not one but two dummies. (She tactfully avoids calling them dummies, but we're willing to risk a few splinters to tell it like it is.) The first runner-up was Adrianna Afsar, 13, of California, and the second runner-up was Shalane Larango, 16, of Washington state. The third runner-up was Jennifer Gulbrandsen, 17, of Utah, and the fourth runner-up was Sierra Minott, 17, of Florida. PNB is grateful for the outstanding treatment of our crew at the pageant, and we look forward to an equally fun experience at the Miss America Pageant. (Knock on wood.)

Tracy Ip Chui Chui was crowned Miss Hong Kong 2005 on Aug. 20, 2005, in Hong Kong. She also won the side award of Miss Charity, related to pageant-based charity events in areas hit hard by the December 2004 tsunami. She will represent Hong Kong at Miss Chinese International 2006. The first runner-up was Sharon Luk, who will go to Miss World 2005. The second runner-up was Carrie Lam. Other finalists were Cindy Lee and Erica Yuen. Miss Photogenic was Shermon Tang, and Miss Miss International Goodwill was Natalie Khor. Miss Spa Culture Ambassador was Camille Suen, and Miss Tourism Ambassador was Erica Yuen.

The Miss Black Universe Pageant crowned its first three queens on Aug. 14, 2005. Regina Tate, Miss Black California Teen Universe, was crowned Miss Black Teen Universe 2006. Mariel A. Lane, Miss Black Teen America 2006, was the first runner-up. Janelle Woods, representing the United States, captured the title of Miss Black Universe 2006. Kimberlee Borland, representing Florida, was the first runner-up. Kieauna Fuqua, representing Ohio, was the second runner-up, and the third runner-up was Catherine J. Cisco, representing Illinois. The fourth runner-up was Sylvia Chimhina, representing Zimbabwe. Dr. Victoria Lane representing America, was crowned Ms. Black Universe 2006. Aiisha Ferguson of California was the first runner-up, and the second runner-up was Ms. Black Illinois, Dr. Yvonne Cisco. The third runner-up was Ms. Black Michigan Universe, Camille Anderson, and the fourth runner-up was Peggy Conrad, representing North Carolina.

Rebecca Kurnikowski, who competed as Miss Sachsen-Anhalt in Miss Deutschland 2004, has now been chosen as Germany's delegate to the Miss Earth Pageant.

Valeria Garcia was crowned Miss Nicaragua World 2005 on Aug. 8, 2005. The first runner-up was Jessica Perez, and the second runner-up was Silvia Flores. The third runner-up was Elisabeth Martinez.

Lauren Halford, a 19-year-old honors student at Georgia Tech, was selected Miss Cobb County in Marietta, Ga., on Aug. 6, 2005. The first runner-up was Beth Keener, 21, a preliminary interview winner, and the second runner-up was Lacey Minchew, 21. The third runner-up was Lace Larrabee, 21, a preliminary interview winner and preliminary swimsuit winner, and the fourth runner-up was Rachel Evans, 20. Erin Maher, 19, won the talent award. The Miss Cobb County Scholarship Pageant gave a total of $21,900 in cash scholarship and ranks No. 1 in the Miss Georgia system and among the top preliminaries in the Miss America system.

The inaugural National Mrs. Pageant was held in Pigeon Forge, Tenn., on Aug. 6, 2005. Cheryl Huizinga of Indiana was crowned National Mrs. 2005. Kirstin Show of Pennsylvania was the first runner-up, and the second runner-up was Kirstin Show of Pennsylvania. Donna Brown of Florida was the second runner-up, and the third runner-up was Donnell Rank of Minnesota. Rosanna Iverson-Berdahl of California was the fourth runner-up. Robin Fleming of Colorado was the Photogenic winner, and Mrs. Congeniality was Sheila Straussburg of New York. Randa Basden of Illinois was the swimsuit winner. Ms. Snow was the interview winner, Ms. Brown was the evening gown winner and Ms. Rank won the Director's Award.

The 2005 National American Queen Pageant took place Aug. 3-4 in Orlando, Fla.. Six National American Queen Titleholders were crowned: Miss Pre-Teen American Queen 2005 -- Bailey DeCresie (Florida); Miss Teen American Queen 2005 -- Liz Hughes (Oklahoma); Miss American Queen 2005 -- Courtney Bell (South Carolina); Ms. American Queen 2005 -- Robin Lowery (Florida); Mrs. American Queen 2005 -- Sunjia Burks (Georgia); Ms. Classic American Queen 2005 -- Cheryl Grobelny (New Jersey).

The third annual America’s National Miss Pageant, produced by PageantCrown.com, was held on July 30, 2005, in Indianapolis. Katherine Cain tied for the swimsuit award and was crowned America’s National Miss 2005. The interview award winner and first runner-up was Bridget Bobel, followed by the second runner-up, Ashley Miller, who won the evening gown competition and tied with Krista Ennis, who was third runner-up, for the runway award. Ashlie Sothard tied for the swimsuit award and finished as fourth runner-up. Other award winners included: Ms. Ennis for the Audience Choice and Contestant’s Choice Awards; Tiffany Wilson, Miss Congeniality; Christine Finch, Miss Photogenic; Most Beautiful Face Award, Ms. Miller; Director’s Award of Appreciation, Joclyn Wallace. In a related but separate event held on the same stage, Latissa Yates was crowned PageantCrown’s National 2005 Teen after winning the interview, runway, swimsuit and evening gown competitions. The first runner-up was Morgan Abel, and Mariah Ellis was the second runner-up and won the Most Beautiful Face and the 2005 Face of the Year Awards. Other award winners included Bria Roberts, Miss Congeniality; Holly Moore, Leadership Award; Katie Rayl, 2005 Teen of the Year; Brittany Lockman, Best Application; Kayla Vierling, Audience Choice and Teen Style Awards; and Whitney Green, Director’s Award of Appreciation.

Lindsey Williams, 17, of Sapulpa, Okla., was crowned Miss National Teenager 2006 in Nashville on July 30, 2005. Jachele Valez of New Jersey was crowned Miss Junior National Teenager 2006.

The third Miss Empire Royalty Pageant was held in New York City on July 30, 2005. Lenique Joy-ann Vincent of Brooklyn won the Princess division along with the John Robert Powers Modeling Scholarship. Shantel Richards of Brooklyn was crowned Miss Empire Royalty Pre-teen, Candi Sterling of Long Island was named Miss Empire Royalty Teen, Leah DeAbreu was crowned Miss Empire Royalty Ms. and Nadia Samuel was crowned Miss New Jersey Empire Royalty.

Shavenna Been has been crowned Miss Turks and Caicos. Trina Adams was the first runner-up, and Jonelle Smith was the second runner-up. Beryl Handfield was the third runner-up. Ms. Been will represent the islands at Miss Universe.

Desiree Duran was crowned Miss Bolivia Universe on Aug. 5, 2005. Viviana Mendez was crowned Miss Bolivia World. Gretel Stehli was crowned Miss Bolivia International. The first finalist was Carolina Lopez, the second finalist was Dalia Lema, and the third finalist was Sandra Alcazar.

Jacenta Barel of Toronto has been crowned Mrs. Canada Galaxy 2006. She will represent Canada at the Galaxy International Finals in Orlando, Fla., in July 2006.

Emmarys Pinto, representing Venezuela, was crowned Miss Intercontinental 2005 on July 30, 2005, in Huangshan, China. The first runner-up was Sarianna Kankaristo of Finland, and the second runner-up was Shauntavia Loo of Norway. The third runner-up was Anush Grigoryan of Armenia, and the fourth runner-up was Saritza Alvarado of Puerto Rico.

Nadine Chandrawinata was crowned Miss Indonesia on July 29, 2005. The first runner-up was Lindi Cistia Prabha, and the second runner-up was Valerina Daniel. Barring complications, Ms. Chandrawinata will represent the country in the Miss Universe Pageant in 2006. After several years of absence from Miss Universe because of complaints from some Muslims about the propriety of pageants, the largely Muslim nation sent a contestant, Artika Devi Sari, to the 2005 Miss Universe Pageant.

Miss India, Sonal Singh, 20, was crowned Miss Tourism 2005 International on July 23, 2005, in Miri, Sarawak, Malaysia. The first runner-up was Miss Russia, Natalya Pervova, 18, and the second runner-up was Miss Lebanon, Sandra Raymond El-Sayegh, 20. Rizka Maqfira Doufri, 23, of Indonesia was Miss Talent, and Miss Pakistan, Uzma Ilyas, was Miss Photogenic. Caroline Michel, 17, of Brazil won for Best Traditional Costume. Dina Sekadu, Miss Ethiopia, won Miss Goodwill. Foo Choon Lian, 24, of Singapore, won Miss Damai, and Rachel Mbuki Marete of Kenya won Miss Permyjaya.

Caroline Murphree, 21, was chosen Miss Hospitality 2005 for the state of Mississippi on July 23, 2005, in Hattiesburg, Miss. The first runner-up was Megan Hoggard. Ms. Murphree will represent the state's hospitality industry.

Kristen Connors, 33, of Rhode Island was crowned Ms. Wheelchair America on July 23, 2005, in Albany, N.Y. She will represent disabled women. The pageant gained national controversy in April 2005 when its Wisconsin representative, Janeal Lee, was stripped of her crown for being able to stand for brief periods. Ms. Lee later won the competing Miss disAbility title

American actress Eva Longoria has topped Maxim magazine's "Hot 100" list of women. British actress Kelly Brook has been chosen FHM magazine's "Sexiest Woman in the World." for 2005.

Kimberly Blair Harshbarger, Baldwin County's Junior Miss, was named Georgia's Junior Miss in Cobb County, Ga., on July 17, 2005. She was overall Scholastics Winner. Christina McCauley, Northwest Cobb's Junior Miss, was the first runner-up and overall winner in Talent and Self-Expression. The second runner-up was Emily Lorene Lloyd, Bartow County's Junior Miss. It was the last state pageant of the soon-to-be-defunct Junior Miss system, unless a means is found to preserve it.

Cindy Vela of Brownsville, Texas, was crowned Miss Spokesmodel International 2006 on July 9, 2005. She was born and raised in South Texas and is a school music director.

Sarah Kramm, 16, of Maryland was crowned Miss Continental Teen America 2005 on July 9, 2005, in Nashville.

Kristin Dambrino, 20, competing as Miss Grenada County, was crowned Miss Mississippi (America) on July 9, 2005. She will represent the Magnolia State in the revamped Miss America Pageant. The first runner-up was Tara Smith, 21, Miss Rankin County, and the second runner-up was Taryn Foshee, 20, Miss Clinton. The third runner-up was Jessica Sparks, 23, Miss Magnolia, and the fourth runner-up was Angela Allen, 23, Miss Mid-South.

Cristin Leigh Duren of Panama City, a former Miss Florida Teen USA and twice a PNB cover girl, was crowned Miss Florida USA on July 9, 2005. Ms. Duren, 24, competed as Miss Emerald Coast. The first runner-up was Amanda Zitzman, 19.

Marie Rodriguez of South Florida was crowned Miss Teen Latina World 2005 on July 3, 2005, in San Antonio. The first runner-up was Zamary Ortiz of Puerto Rico, and the second runner-up was Corinne Barerra of South Texas. The third runner-up was Glynnis Hunter of New York, and the fourth runner-up was Carolyn Chavez of Central Texas. Scarlet Obadia of Georgia was crowned Ms. Latina World 2005. The first runner-up was Heloisa Alves of Washington, and the second runner-up was Yuri Suarez of Colombia. The third runner-up was Gia Baqueriza of Ecuador, and the fourth runner-up was Carmen Estremera of New York.

Melissa Lacle has been crowned Miss Aruba Universe 2006. She will represent the island at Miss Universe.

Ashley Edge of Georgia has won the Teen Miss US United 2005 crown in Atlanta. The first runner-up was Haille Brofft of Kentucky, and the second runner-up was Tenley Wallace of South Carolina. The third runner-up was Destiney Mattox of Florida. Lauren Ray, Heart of Georgia, was crowned Miss US United 2005. The first runner-up was Ameerah Muhammad, Georgia. Britta Mattox, Georgia, was crowned Ms. US United 2005. The first runner-up was Adrienne McDonald, Oklahoma. Mayumi Cole, Georgia, was crowned Ms. US United Woman 2005. The first runner-up was Tami Bremer, Michigan. Deidra Moore, Georgia, was crowned Mrs. US United 2005. The first runner-up was Janine Davie, South Carolina. The second runner-up was Mary Schwartzkopf, Nebraska. Ericka Watkins, Florida, was crowned Elegant Ms. US United 2005. The first runner-up was Jamila Jackson, Georgia. Patrice Torrence, Georgia, was crowned Elegant Ms. US United Woman. The first runner-up was Peggy Conrad, North Carolina. Donna Delaney, Missouri, was crowned Elite Ms. US United. Carolyn Rhone, Florida, was the first runner-up. Stage production was handled by Reggie Lewis, Mr. International UA 2005.

Erika Grace Powell, 20, who competed as Miss Golden Corner, was crowned Miss South Carolina on July 9, 2005. She will represent the Palmetto State at Miss America.

Aiofe Cogan has bee chosen Miss Ireland World 2005. The first runner-up was Meave Carey, and the second runner-up was Samina Zia.

Nicole Brewer, 22, was crowned Miss Pennsylvania on July 2, 2005, in Nazareth, Pa. Ms. Brewer competed as Miss Allegheny Valley. Annie Rossellini, 13, of the town of Butler in Butler County, won the Miss Pennsylvania Outstanding Teen Pageant, a related event.

Octavia Reese, a classical cellist who competed as Miss Wayne County, has been crowned Miss Michigan 2005. The first runner-up was Angela Corsi, and the second runner-up was Leilani Melissa Thorn. The third runner-up was Kristen Hope Balfour, and the fourth runner-up was Amy Kathleen Fister.

Kandice Pelletier, 23, competing as Miss Greater New York City, was crowned Miss New York on July 2, 2005, in Watertown. She was the previous year's first runner-up. She is a New York University student and a Rockette, and her talent was dance. Ms. Pelletier, who will now compete at Miss America, is a former National Sweetheart. She won that contest while representing her former state of Georgia. (Monica Pang, the recently crowned Miss Georgia, was also a National Sweetheart who had competed as the Peach State representative). The first runner-up to Ms. Pelletier was Kimberley Ferdinando, and the second runner-up was Jean Lester. The third runner-up was Amber Lindke, and the fourth runner-up was Chia-jung Tsay.
