Who's the fairest one of all? Wisconsin's leading lady, Gloria Weber, Mrs. Wisconsin, took the title home this year (2003). Gloria remembers the moment: "Shock and disbelief! I had no intentions on winning. I really just wanted to meet new friends and celebrate being a wife and mother!"

Married (of course) with 2 young children, Gloria resides in Theresa, Wis., and is self-employed, with a thriving sewing and alteration business. She took a few moments out of her busy schedule to answer some questions.

Q. If you could deliver one important message to the married women in Wisconsin, what would it be?

A. We are more than a second income, housekeepers and mothers. We are "women" with insight and have voices and views that need to be heard.

Q. What is your platform?

A. Children will be my No. 1 focus. They are fragile and helpless and need a louder voice to speak for them. All they ask for is love. I hope to make sure all children are safe and healthy. I am also a strong believer in Pro-Life. Abortion is never the solution. It took my husband and I five long years to finally become parents. Adoption seemed like the answer to our prayers before God stepped in and granted us two beautiful, healthy children. Is nine months of pregnancy too great of a sacrifice for the unborn child you carry?

Q. How do you feel about plastic surgery?

A. It's wonderful when used to restore structure; for example, accident victims or birth defects. As for being used as a tool to recapture your youth or to change what God gave you. . . . I believe it's unnecessary and expensive.

Q. Favorite movie?

A. I will always love "Grease." It makes me want to sing and dance like a teenager.

Q. What are your passions/interests?

A. My passion is sewing, my hobby is tractor-pulling and my family is my reason for being!

Q. Focusing on charities is one of the most rewarding aspects of being a titleholder. Which organizations will you zero in on?

A. A wonderful woman I recently have gotten to know, Pam Ebel from Eau Claire, Wis., runs a charity called "Safe Kids." I will most definitely be helping her out with her mission, as well as any other avenues that need my help.

Q. What do you hope to accomplish as Mrs. Wisconsin?

A. Wisconsin is a wonderful, close-knit community. Let's keep it safe for our children and the generations to come.
