How to address Queen Leslie:

Her formal title is Queen Leslie, Miss Pageant.com. She is usually addressed as "Queen Leslie." She won't be upset if you simply call her "Leslie," because she is a humble person, but we don't think you should be so casual.

Requirements to be Miss Pageant.com

The queen must be a woman 25 or under at the time of her coronation. There are no nationality requirements.

Personal facts about Queen Leslie:

She was born in Alabama. She currently works as a fitness instructor. She will turn 21 on Nov. 27, 2003. (Her birthday will be an important date in the PNB calendar.)

As part of the secret competition that made her Miss Pageant.com, she participated in a few pageants, though she does not have a long competitive history. But her limited participation caught the eye of numerous people. In the weeks before her PNB coronation, she was approached by many people in the business who wanted to enlist her in their contests.

The oath that made Leslie Sale a queen:

I, Leslie Sale, having been chosen and affirmed as queen of the online pageant industry, do hereby accept the crown, and the accompanying title of Miss Pageant.com, on this 15th day of September 2003. I attest that I am of age to reign, and that there are no barriers to my faithful service. I pledge to serve and protect the industry with diligence, patience and kindness; to encourage honesty and high standards; to oppose dishonesty and dissension. I promise to uphold the honor of all those who participate in beauty contests, to the furthest limits of my ability. So help me God.

Who administered the oath to Queen Leslie?

A PNB editor did the honors. She now refers to him as "my prime minister."

Why Queen Leslie sometimes wears a bracelet:

At Queen Leslie's coronation, she asked that a bracelet be put on her right wrist before the crown was placed on her head. "Any kind of bracelet will do," she said, "even a simple ribbon."

Just as the crown is symbolic of power, the bracelet is symbolic of responsibility, and Queen Leslie feels that responsibility is the more important trait. Besides, her right hand is the one with which she took her oath.

Whenever Queen Leslie appears in her crown, she wears a bracelet also, and the bracelet is always put on first and removed last. If she simply wears her banner without the crown, no bracelet is necessary.

This tradition is likely to be maintained at PNB, and may become the standard for the pageant industry.

Queen Leslie's code name:

During the royal trials (the secret competition that chose Queen Leslie), none of the competitors knew one another's names. When a contestant communicated with the Pageant News Bureau on a matter related to the contest, she used her code name. The code name for Leslie Sale was "Spooky."

Officially, the name was chosen at random. But one PNB staffer quoted a judge as saying, "That Dothan girl is so beautiful, it's spooky."

The code names of the other girls, like their real names, have not been disclosed. They may remain secret forever.
