Behold the bombshell | ![]()
|
| We told you recently that one of our PNB staffers had become obsessed with a "missing" photograph of Miss Latina U.S., Lydia Acuña. The picture, he said, had an iconic quality. It was like the image of Marlene Dietrich in a top hat, or the shot of a laughing Marilyn Monroe with her dress billowing up around her. Well, the Lydia Acuña picture has been found. And our staffer was right. This beauty queen does for the window what Ms. Monroe did for the sidewalk grate. Now we're obsessed. It's great to see our staffer vindicated. We may even let him out of confinement. |
| Lydia Acuña lights a fireRed has always been the color of obsession. (Pink is for pale obsessions.) "There was this photo of her on the Web," the staffer said. "She was wearing a red dress, or reddish anyway. It was the best photo of a beauty queen I've ever seen. The best ever! The color suited her perfectly." |
| But now the staffer can't find the picture, and that is making him crazy. Surely such a perfect photograph wasn't a dream. It's out there somewhere, but where? We turned up this photo of Ms. Acuña, wearing "reddish" clothes and looking absolutely smashing. But this is not the mystery photo. If you know where it is, pageant fans, please tell us. And Ms. Acuña, if you are reading this, maybe you can help. What's the best photo of you ever? If it's better than this, you must be really something. |
