| It's a long, soggy drive from Indianapolis to Australia, but Indy cars somehow made the trip. And they have become a hit in the Land Down Under. Every year, there are Indy car races at Surfers Paradise, Queensland. |
| Such sleek lines! Such smoothness of motion! Such legs! No, we're not talking about cars. We're describing the women of the Miss Indy modeling competition, which is held in conjunction with the races.
| |
| One of these models is Nikki Giteau, who has won the right to represent New South Wales at the national event. Competing in four categories -- swimwear, sportswear, evening wear and club wear -- she beat out other contestants at One World Sports in Sydney. |
| She has previously been a finalist at Miss Inside Sport and Miss Summertime. That sounds promising. And according to one account, she can quickly go from "simple, sexy and sweet" to "rough and tumble." That's what they call modeling. If Ms. Gateau becomes a big star in Australia, she may tour the world. Asia, Europe, the Americas, perhaps even Indianapolis. But you can bet she won't try to drive. | |
