| What's the loveliest sight you can see in this spectacular country? Well, the Alps are impressive. And the castles are put together rather neatly. But nothing else in all of Germany compares to the beauty queens. Just ask any pageant fan. |

| When the Miss Germany (Universe) Pageant was held in Kaiserslautern in January 2001, PNB was there. It was a night to savor, and our hosts made the experience even more pleasant. German efficiency is legendary, and was on display at the smoothly run event, but German hospitality made an even greater impression on us. |

Miss Thüringen, Claudia Beckstein, was the winner, earning the right to represent her country at Miss Universe and Miss Intercontinental. The first runner-up was Miss Mecklenburg-Vorpommern, Katharina Berndt, and the second runner-up was Miss Arabella, Aljone Glöckner. |
| But are we really justified in saying that Germany's beauty queens are more awesome than its castles? Maybe not. To tell the truth, we never even looked at any castles. |
