Miakoda Mazak won the Swimwear Illustrated Model Search, sponsored by albjimages.com, in October 2001. She went on to the Ujena Bikini Jam. You can see why.

What you wouldn't guess from looking at her is that she's into comedy. She wants to make a career of making you laugh.

Ms. Mazak took her first laps on the laugh circuit a few years ago, doing skits and improvisations in comedy clubs. She got her share of chuckles, thanks in part to acting experience that goes back to her childhood. But as funny as she was, people were distracted by her beauty. She was taking their breath away, and that made it hard to laugh.

So she decided to stick for a while with modeling, acting and pageants. She has won the title of Miss Unicorn, and she has performed in plays and commercials.

Still, comedy is Ms. Mazak's first love, and she wants to go back to it. If she can just get people to stop looking at her . . .

In case you're curious, the name "Miakoda" is Navaho, while "Mazak" is Slavic. Some people might call it a funny name, but we think it's beautiful. Just like the lady in the swimsuit.
