Magnificent, and now
she's married

Keylee Sanders

Keylee Sanders has a special place in pageant history. As Miss Teen USA 1995, she was the reigning young queen when PNB was founded, when the address www.pageant.com first flickered onto computer screens. She was to pageant news what Queen Isabella was to the discovery of America.

Today, she's discovering new worlds of her own. With a degree in fashion design, she is the founder and owner of Keylee's Design House, LLC in Kansas City, Mo.

Leaving the cathedral

And she's married. On Oct. 6, 2001, at Grace and Holy Trinity Cathedral in Kansas City, she exchanged vows with David Richard Hochberg. Now she's Keylee Sanders-Hochberg.

"It was a complete fairy tale come true," the bride said. And indeed, this was the kind of wedding you would expect to see in a romantic movie.

Mrs. Sanders-Hochberg was clad in a gown that she co-created (with Stephen Yearick of New York), and she wore a Holly Hardwick headpiece that was a glittering reminder of the pageant world. The bride's veil was made by her mother, partly from the mother's own veil.

And the former Miss Teen USA carried a sixpence in her shoe, a gift from the bridegroom's mother.

After a leisurely honeymoon exploring the blue waters of the Virgin Islands, the couple returned to live in Kansas City, where Mr. Hochberg is an energy trader.

Keylee Sanders-Hochberg is now a former teen and a former single. But to pageant fans, this radiant young woman from Middle America will always be a queen. And we have a feeling that she won't disappear from the pageant world. We need her now more than ever.

PNB extends special thanks to Keylee Sanders-Hochberg and David Richard Hochberg. We are also grateful to Steve and Margaret Sanders, Dr. Richard and Jeannie Hochberg, Daydree Dopps and Michael Hochberg. Finally, we thank Alycia Rodriguez-Nichols.
