This contest was so big, it had four winners. The U.S. finals of the Miss Hawaiian Tropic United States Pageant, held at the Turtle Bay Hilton in Kahuku, Hawaii, in early October 1998, picked American beauties from the far-flung corners of the vast nation.
The fab four were Charlotte Arlt of Houston; Tenniel Gacayan of the island of Hawaii (the Big Island); Brooke Richards, representing Atlantic Beach, N.C.; Angie Ann Chittenden, representing Aspen, Colo. Ms. Gacayan was Miss Photogenic and Ms. Arlt won the Miss Met Rx award.
