| Good days for Farah Fath |
| "Like sands through the hourglass, so are the days of our lives." Millions of people can recite that phrase from memory. It's the most famous opening line in all of American soap opera. It's the introduction to "Days of Our Lives," the NBC daytime series that began in 1965 and is still going strong. |
| But what does the phrase mean, exactly? Maybe it's a reminder that life is unpredictable and fleeting. But we think it means that timing is everything. That has certainly been true for Farah Fath, the former Kentucky beauty queen who is now a "Days" cast member. After years of modeling, acting in local theater and winning a couple of pageant titles, she went with her mother, Lisa, to a show biz expo in Los Angeles a few years ago. | ![]() |
| She quickly got her foot in the door and moved to Tinseltown. (Some women move there first and still spend years on the doorstep.) |

| Ms. Fath is one of only two members of her show's ensemble to "act her own age." Her character is growing up as she does. And Ms. Fath has literally come of age in Hollywood. Now that she's an adult, her mother and younger sister, Torie, have returned to normal life in the Bluegrass State. |
| But when the cameras are not rolling, Ms. Fath still can go home again. People are starting to recognize her everywhere, but they know her in Lexington. Even though the sands of fame often shift in Hollywood, she will always be on solid ground in Kentucky. | ![]()
