The American dream,
for girls

We spend a lot of our lives dreaming. Sometimes we're asleep when the dreams come to us, but sometimes we're awake. Sometimes we tell other people about them, and sometimes we keep them locked in our hearts.

Occasionally, dreams come true. Most never do, especially in the pageant world. But when they do come true, it's something to celebrate.

On the last day of May in 2003, a group of girls were celebrating, two of them with special excitement. It was the close of the Miss Dream Girl America Pageant, and the winners had just been announced.

The Miss Dream Girl America Pageant is known for two things, said the news article in PNB: "generous prizes" (cash mostly) and the participants who go on to success and fame. Many of these young women and not just the winners win major titles elsewhere.

Now there are two more winners, and we expect big things from them. Tiffany Terrell of Ponte Vedra Beach claimed the title in the Teen division. Chelsea D. Simons of Tallahassee was the victor in the Miss division.

Remember their names, remember their faces and remember their titles. As time goes on, you will know that what we're saying is true.

Meanwhile, keep dreaming.
