It should be obvious. Brian Reid is a guy. A man, a bloke, a dude. He is a person of the male persuasion.

And that's a first.

We have reported about male pageants, and occasionally we have profiled men who made their fortunes in the pageant and modeling industries. But never before have we profiled a man because of the way he looks.

A bastion of female supremacy has been breached.

This is a historic occasion, but it makes us a little nervous. We can write about beautiful women and make them unforgettable, but we don't have much experience describing handsome men. We feel like portrait painters who have just been told to start chiseling a marble bust, or burger flippers who have been assigned to twirl pizzas. Oh, the sacrifices we make for our art!
