Our kiss for a bride

We are very mature at PNB. When we heard that Alicia Hall was about to get married, we didn't lose our heads. But some men did. They thought this pageant star, who had won so many titles and almost won many more, should stay single just to keep their hopes alive.

Now these sad sacks will really have to face reality. On Oct. 10, 2003, Ms. Hall married Guy Mocek in Jamaica. She is a Miss no more.

But here's some good news. The new Mrs. Mocek is not going to vanish into a kitchen. She will continue working as a spokesmodel for American Suzuki, Porsche Cars North America and NASCAR.

So all you brokenhearted fans will still be seeing her picture. You can still say, "Isn't she something?" But you can't fool your friends anymore by telling them that she's your girlfriend and you're thinking about setting a date. They'll know you're lying.

Of course, you could say, "I was the best man at her wedding." Your friends might believe that.
