A teen, a title, | ![]()

| Addie Hampton's official title is Miss Junior National Teen-Ager 2003, which is a fact that she often neglects to mention. She is more inclined to talk about the America's National Teen-Ager program than to brag about herself. She likes explaining the pageant's long history, high standards and civic involvement. Clearly she believes in the pageant's principles, and she's a more convincing pitchwoman than most directors we've met. But the program wouldn't mean much if it didn't have young women like Ms. Hampton to represent it. So we're going to tell you about her. |

| Showmanship comes naturally to Ms. Hampton. "It suits my personality," she says. She was bitten by the performance bug at a kindergarten talent show. Of the numerous titles she has won in her home state of Georgia, "Cobb's Talented Miss" seems to be her favorite. |

![]() | Can she dance? Just watch her. Jazz, ballet, tap, you name it. But singing is her passion, and once again she doesn't stick to one style. "Broadway, country, '40s . . . and I love opera." She's looking forward to a career in musical theater, and sooner rather than later. |
| She's also making the world safer, which we appreciate. She's a "McGruff ambassador," a member of a nationwide anti-crime program. Instead of telling you about Ms. Hampton, we could have told you all about her title. But she tells that story so much better than we do. | ![]() |
